A pre-blog effort, from early in my painting-again revival; recalls mid-20th-Cent. illustration to me, for some reason, like something from a Dick&Jane reader or an ad for a big-finned auto. I think it's the primary-color feel, the up-beat but theatrical, both-sides-blown-out lighting, the unmodeled shading above the eyes…

I'm gearing up for a departure from these carefully rendered faces; not clear yet on the most alluring destination, so I guess I'll stick around here for a while yet. But something's whispering "Push out!" and I'm listening.
