The Sinking series derives from a sequence of photos I took of the setting sun as it travelled down behind a massive cloud formation in Roxbury, Connecticut about 10 years ago. The effect was scrim–like, a bowl of light darkening and dispersing as the illumination slowly deepened and descended. There's a further-along sequence in the works.
